I needed this for the 1/2" distance, to use as a spacer in various lengths. Easy to cut, which is great. I was pleasantly surprised to find when they say 1/2" it really is 1/2". The consistency is +-.001". I know that won't matter to many people, but I'm using it on manufacturing fixuring where size and location is important. I was willing to take a file to the edge to get my size if I had to, but I didn't. Being magnetic means it won't move around with vibration, between parts or during work. This op doesn't make chips so I wasn't worried about a cleaning problem.
